This blog will contain a record of what we eat. It’s called Food of the Hygge and Fika because that’s what we’ve named our home. Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga, sort of) is a Danish word that has no equivalent in English. It involves community and food and can be somewhat approximated as “coziness.” (For a more indepth explanation of hygge, look here.) Fika is somewhat of a Swedish form of hygge — one of the main differences being that fika must include coffee, it seems.
We love food, and cook without written recipes as often as we use a formula. We’re not gourmet cooks, but we do enjoy preparing tasty sustenance.
